Before AI became part of my work, I was managing purchasing, stock, suppliers, people and the recurring jobs that keep a business moving. I know what happens when the answers, the follow-ups and the process all live in one person's head.
I'm British, based in Melbourne, and I built Wise Women Use AI for women running their own businesses, with Gen X women at its heart. We have plenty of experience. What we often need is a better way to carry the work, with room left for life outside it.
One practical example is my newsletter. It starts with my notes, Claude prepares a draft, and I read it, change it and approve it before it goes out. I work primarily with Claude and also teach ChatGPT foundations. The tool follows the job. Sometimes the useful change is an AI-assisted draft. Sometimes it is a checklist, a clearer handover or deciding to stop doing something.
